See the Seals at Blakeney

Visit North Norfolk when on the Broads to see some amazing wildlife

A great day out when on your Broads holiday is to go seal watching at Blakeney. Daily trips from the village itself or nearby Morston take you out on purpose-built ferries on which you’ll be taken around the beautiful waters of the North Norfolk Broads and inlets.

Your trip will take you out to Blakeney point, a meeting ground for seals, where you’re likely to see dozens of the animals as well as pups at certain times of the year.

So if you have booked your trip to the Norfolk Broads or are thinking about it, take a look at our places to stay on the Broads and see the seals when you’re down here.

Norfolk’s Two Broads

Which part of the Broads in Norfolk will you choose?

Many visitors to the region don’t know, but the famous Norfolk Broads is split into two parts. The Norfolk Broads everybody knows starts of in Gorleston on the coast, continuing by Great Yarmouth. This section of the Norfolk Broads then breaks off into several directions. The first of these takes you past the villages of Reedham, Cantley and Brundall with the route ending in Norwich City Centre.

The second of these routes flows through Acle, South Walsham and into the popular tourist resort of Wroxham, where the largest collection of boat hire companies resides. This route also breaks off to nearby Potter Heigham and Stalham.

Yet there is also the North Norfolk Broads, flowing through what some regard as the most beautiful parts of Norfolk near the coastline. The villages of Blakeney, Cley and Wells Next the Sea are tourist hotspots giving you access to a network of Broads rivers as well as the sea.

Whichever area you choose take a look at our accommodation guide for the Norfolk Broads and look out for the latest news and events here.
